Volunteer

Volunteers play an essential role in providing compassion, comfort, peace and support to individuals in hospice care. Being a hospice volunteer offers you the chance to have a lasting impact on our hospice patients and their families. Our volunteers find the experience personally gratifying and emotionally meaningful. 

Volunteers come from all walks of life and have many talents. We invite you to use your talents with us. Below are some examples of roles that you might enjoy: 

• Visit patients and families in their homes, providing companionship or a break for caregiver(s)
• Celebrate a patient’s birthday by baking and delivering birthday cakes 
• Making check-in calls to our patients or those in the grief support program
• Answering the phone and greeting guests at the SunCare Center 
• Provide Companionship to patients at the SunCare Center by reading to them and being present
• Assist with various tasks at SunCare Center such as watering plants or keeping things tidy
• Assist with administrative tasks at our office or at the SunCare Center
• Assist with various events to benefit SunCare Blessings, Inc.
• Help with fundraisers for SunCare Blessings, Inc.

All volunteers must complete our free comprehensive training program and any training that is specific to their role.
